Finding the right supplier for your business needs is more complicated now that it ever was. While the internet has opened the door to a global market place, all is not equal when it comes to quality. If you are comparing physical products you are able to compare the quality of the materials used in the product: is it solid silver or silver plate; are there 250 stitches to the inch or 600 stitches. These types of comparisons are easy.

If the company you are outsourcing to is in another country, being hands-on and making comparisons is not as easy, especially if there are language and cultural differences. Before you make the jump to outsourcing, check with your local and State government to see if they have trade relationships with your country of choice. If they do, it will make your job so much easier.

Having a representative in another country that puts your best interests forward will make a huge difference to your bottom line. Local and State representatives go on trade missions all the time. See if you can join a mission and get first-hand insight into what an overseas supplier can do for your business.

What Is The Real Cost Of Outsourcing

What Is The Real Cost Of Outsourcing
© markhillary

Billions of dollars of business is outsourced each year in the computer/information technology market. Nowadays, the business that does not have a website will most likely not be around next year. But, with money being tight for every business, many business owners are going to the developing world for their website and information technology needs.

You can find skilled workers in the developing world that will work for $2 an hour completing sophisticated technical programming. The same worker in the U.S may be $18 an hour. While outsourcing sounds like a great deal, make sure that there is a common language between you and the person you hire. All too often the person who is doing your work does not have a firm grasp of American English. You can have a lot of delays when what you ask for is not what you get. Before you outsource, ask yourself are you really getting value for money. If your business launch is delayed due to a miscommunication, how much will that cost you? If you have to wait to speak to someone for several hours because they are in a different time zone, how much will that cost you in lost business?

Outsourcing is not as cheap as it sounds.

There has been a change in the thought process of MBA applicants of today. They feel that one day businesses will come out with their true character and it would not just involve bottom lines and filling the wallets of shareholders. Also Wall Street would not just be judged by fat bonuses but also content of its character.

All this is expected to change in the capitalistic economy of America as a number of MBA admission committees are witnessing an increasing number of applicants who are looking to make a career for themselves in non profit and other non traditional sectors. Increasing number of students are showing interest in microfinance, sustainability and social enterprise.

A number of restaurant supply companies are also benefiting as they are getting business for supplying food and other related equipments to increasing number of social enterprises which are coming up. The mindset of people is definitely changing for the better it seems.
