Outsourcing has its defenders and its detractors, and, regardless of which side of the fence you sit, outsourcing continues to be a complex issue.
One one side of the fence we have the small business owner who just can not make ends meet in today's economy. The only way for their business to survive is by outsourcing the most expensive parts. This way they can still keep the business going, keep some staff on board, and only suffer the smallest staff lay-offs.
Yet for each job that is outsourced, the detractors say, not only is another American job lost, but our national security is at stake. The detractors hold that more and more businesses in the United States are letting workers in foreign countries handle sensitive data, personal information, trade secrets, and technological development.
